IPC was established more than 20 years ago by a small group of highly experienced individuals who were all working as independent consultants having had senior roles in major organisations in the port sector.
Today we are able to work as a team or as individuals to meet your project requirements. Each member brings a complementary competence to the team, meaning that IPC can offer a comprehensive range of services.

Originally a coastal geomorphologist, Derek undertook a Ph.D. in Geomorphology and Law whilst running a successful consulting business.

Guy has over 20 years’ experience working in the global ports, shipping, logistics and materials handling industries and specialises in the handling of dry bulk products.
Martin Phipps
Marine Operations & Harbour Master Services
Martin has over 50 years’ experience in both the marine and ports industries after serving a career at sea in the Merchant Navy before coming ashore into the ports industry as both a pilot and Harbour Master.

Niels has over 20 years’ international experience in IT design, implementation and operation, roll-out and development projects within container terminal management and operations, shipping, intermodal transport and port operations.

Peter has a lifetime of experience in maritime transport and the development of projects, having worked in international shipping, ports, transport and logistics since finishing his 5 year commission in the Royal Navy.
